The Teena Toba and Walter Hendelman Legacy Funding Program
A long-time supporter, Teena appreciated and saw the value in the programs that were offered to the newly diagnosed. After her passing, her husband Walter has been instrumental in supporting Breast Cancer Action and its programs and has helped guide us in ensuring that funds could be divested via an I-trade account.
Should you be in the position that it’s time for you to start planning your own legacy, please contact our Executive Director at 613-736-5921 to start the process.
Another option is a legacy gift which is a planned future donation to a charity, given through a will or other form of designation.
It is a decision that each person makes in their own financial planning process, that takes into account your charitable wishes and values.
You can contact Breast Cancer Action’s Executive Director at 613-736-5921 for further information.

Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to get to know Breast Cancer Action Ottawa. I do hope that you will join one of our amazing funding donor programs that will help men and women in Ottawa cope and live with their breast cancer diagnosis. Your steadfast compassion is truly inspiring.
A lot is going on in the world right now, but there are still hundreds of women and men who still need your help. Every day of the year many women and men are diagnosed with breast cancer and have called us for help. They have called us from parking lots, closets, and basements.
Often Breast Cancer Action is the first call they make after their consult with their surgeon. Being diagnosed with breast cancer can be overwhelming and very emotional for many. There is significant fear, fear of hair loss, breast loss, and even the potential for loss of life. Newly diagnosed women and men need someone at the end of the phone, to listen, provide empathy and provide support. And that’s just what Breast Cancer Action does, every day.
Your donation today will mean the Breast Cancer Action will be there to answer the call for the next women and men in need. You can ensure that Breast Cancer Action will have the resources to meet these needs. Together, we’ve stayed strong. You can make our community a better place for newly diagnosed women and men and the people who love them, simply by choosing the funding program that is the right fit for you.
Let’s continue our work to take care of each other. Together, we will build a better, stronger community for all.
