Support Group.

And in other news:

Did you know that the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation offers one-on-one Cancer Coaching
by healthcare professional with background in oncology ?

From the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond, they are there to help you
throughout your entire experience with cancer including managing stress, mood and emotions,
acknowledging frustration, handling fear. finding a clinical trial, or discovering how to face a
difficult prognosis. They help you figure out the practical stuff, like navigating the healthcare
system, planning for surviving, and dealing with hospitals, specialists, insurance companies and
employers.

You will be paired with a personal Cancer Coach who will work with you to identify what’s most
important to you in your care. They will be there to provide support, education, practical
guidance and navigation assistance as well as to help you meet your health and wellness goals
and improve your quality of life. Your Cancer Coach will also work with you to anticipate and
identify barriers to meeting your goals and brainstorm solutions that work for you.
If you are interested or have any questions about Cancer Coaching, you can email them at
coaching@ottawacancer.ca or call them at 613-247-3527.

Virtual Invasive Lobular Cancer 2021 Event June 24th-25th, 2021
The International ILC Virtual Symposium will be an opportunity for physicians, researchers,
patient advocates and organizations who are interested in learning about ILC and the most
current research, to come together to better understand this disease. We believe that this
symposium will be an opportunity to share current research in ILC and continue to build a
vibrant and collaborative community of physicians, researchers and advocates that ultimately
impacts the outcome for patients with ILC.

As I write this on the solstice, summer is here and the gorgeous days are upon us. It is good for
our souls to get out and enjoy some of those days in nature – walking, meeting for coffee or
simply sitting in a park enjoying the air and breathing in nature. It can help us refocus and be
present and let the worries and fears subside for a moment. If you are thinking of getting out
and are unsure of going alone or want company, feel free to reach out and contact someone to
accompany you. Know that there are others in the same situation that you are in.
If there is anyone interested in getting together with others, feel free to reach out and we can
arrange a ‘nature’ time.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions, or if you’d like to make sure that we have a
discussion about a particular subject when we do our support group. I am ALWAYS just an email
away.

Stay safe everyone!!!
