In 1998, two years after the very first breast cancer dragon boat team was formed in Vancouver, BC, the team Busting Out was formed in Ottawa, ON. Since then, Busting Out has participated in local and international dragon boat festivals along with sister survivor teams all over the world. We encourage you to learn our history, share our presence and support our mission!

We are Ottawa’s only breast cancer survivor dragon boat team. Over 50 women of various ages and backgrounds, supporting each other through breast cancer recovery.

We paddle out of the Rideau Canoe Club in the beautiful setting of Mooney’s Bay in the heart of Ottawa.
Our Passion
The benefits of dragon boating for breast cancer survivors are many. Improved fitness and health, reducing lymphedema, and camaraderie and support of other survivors.
