The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) will be hosting Living Well Beyond Cancer, a free 6 week workshop for post-treatment cancer patients starting April 11, 2012.
Living Well Beyond Cancer is based on the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program researched and developed at Stanford University. The program is designed to help people (post-treatment) gain confidence in their ability to control their symptoms and live the best possible life with a long-term condition.
Registered participants will learn how to:
- Manage symptoms and treatment side-effects
- Manage medication use
- Eat a more healthy and nutritious diet
- Communicate with their family, friends, and healthcare team
- Deal with emotions and solve problems
- Set and achieve goals
Living Well Beyond Cancer will be held at the Maplesoft Centre, every Wednesday from 6:00-8:30pm, commencing April 11, 2012 for six weeks.
Registration is required and we ask that eligible participants please commit to attending the full six weeks.
There are still a few spaces left so call 613-723-1744 ext. 3621 now (leave a message) to register!
